Red Sox Start Communications

I read these two news blurbs in the Boston Globe's EXTRA BASES. It seems the Red Sox brass visited Houston and established communication with outfielder Carl Crawford. They're not wasting any time. They want him. And it also now appears the Red Sox have scheduled a meeting with Scott Boras before the Winter Meetings. Boras represents Adrian Beltre and Jayson Werth, among others. If they sign Crawford and retain Beltre (long shot), their lineup would look something like this. Thank you Extra Bases...

Ellsbury CF
Pedroia 2B
Crawford LF
Youkilis 1B
Ortiz DH
Beltre 3B
Drew RF
Scutaro SS
Saltalamacchia C

I still have my sights set on a certain slugging first baseman. Youk would shift to the hot corner and that new first baseman whose initials are AG would man first and be a huge addition to the lineup. But having Beltre at third would be sweet, indeed. Oh yes. By the way, Pedey Pedroia is doing just fine.

And now, courtesy of the Boston Herald, is the Boston Red Sox complete spring training schedule...

If you're lucky enough to be in Fort Myers, Florida, check out the new Red Sox facilities there. It's a great town. My parents used to live in nearby Naples. And if you like baby back ribs, go to Michelbob's. There's one in Naples and another in Fort Myers. They have the absolute best racks of baby backs I've ever had. Hey, their onion rings hold a candle to no one and the beer is ice cold. My goodness, it's just 5am EST and I have a craving for ribs now! I'll whip up a couple eggs for a more sensible breakfast.

I have to leave you right now. I hope your Thursday will be tremendous. Click on this post's title for more baseball news and as always, be well.
