J.D. Drew...Right, Or Center? What May Happen.....

From the Wednesday of all Wednesday's Boston Globe....
This papragraph, of course, is talking about J D Drew, and his outfield capability....

"The Sox were also attracted, as Epstein would put it, by the thought of putting a center fielder in right field. And Drew could end up in center, because there is a market for Coco Crisp. If Crisp could bring end-of-the-game relief help in trade, the Sox might turn to Drew to play center. Drew's agent, Scott Boras, said Drew has agreed to play either position.

Peter here, and that last paragraph was BIG. But if Drew ends up in centerfield, where does that leave us for rightfield defense?? Not WMP! So unless Coco brings someone truly unbelievably good, let the outfielders sort out the way they look now, with WMP there as the fourth outfielder, an always needed player on a team complete enough for the post-season. And don't forget...the Red Sox right now are not set up the way they will be for the start of the season. Glaring hole number one....the closer. There ain't one! And a set-up man is needed also. And a back-up catcher. And the second base situation seems to be in the good hands of Alex Cora and Pedrosia. So right now, DMat and Mr. "soon-to-be-named"-closer loom large. Thanks for reading, and I'll try to keep you as up to date as possible during this oh so busy breaking news time of the year. Fasten your seatbelts! I'm with ya!

I'm not thrilled with the amount of money we paid for this guy though.... I gotta tell ya.

I wouldn't be heartbroken to see Coco gone. He's got that "Nomar" feeling to me.
